chapter 5
After school Lily, Ray and Robbie went to the station. Everything was just as they had left it. They had a strange feeling and a wave of memories came crashing over them. They looked around for a bit before the took their usual seats. They stared into the empty booth were Travis/Smog used to sit. They all sighed in unison and then laughed because they did so.
"Wow." Lily said, "just look at this place. It seems like nothing has changed at all."
"I know. Look my plastic lizard's still here!" Ray said as he picked it up and threw it over to Robbie.
Robbie caughted it against his chest and sat it down infront of his dust covered microphone. Robbie leaned in to his mic, which still switched off since their last broadcast, and asked his three friends, "I'm Question Mark and I'm wondering... Will things be the same? Should we really bring RFR back? What will happen?"
"You'll never know unless you try." Lily said, "but first we have to call Travis.
They stared at the phone that sat in the middle of the table.
"Ok guys, you've got your calling cards, you've got your index fingers, you've got that long Hong Kong phone number that will direct us to the Strong Residence, but do you have the courage to pick up that phone and ask for one, Mr. Travis Strong?" Ray said in a game show host voice.
Lily and Robbie laughed nervously.
"What if he doesn't want us to.." Robbie started.
"We have to ask him Robbie." Lily said.
Robbie picked up the phone and began to dial in the calling card code and then Travis's phone number.
"Ok guys, it's ringing." He said nervously.
Ray and Lily smiled and sat up straight.
"Put him on speaker!" Ray said.
Robbie put the phone on speaker so they could all hear.
Just then an unfamiliar voice answered, "Hello?"
"Uh, Hello. Is Travis Strong home?" Robbie asked.
The voice on the other end made a noise and said, "Travis Strong? There is nobody here by that name. You mean the Strong family?"
"Yes!" Ray said.
"Oh, they left a long time ago."
Their hearts sank.
"What? Are you sure?" Lily asked.
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Ok, thank you." Robbie said as he hung up the phone.
"How can he move away and not tell us?!" Lily shouted.
"Who does that? Why did he..." Ray asked,looking at Robbie who was still sitting down staring at the phone.
"Hello? Robbie! What the heck just happend?" Ray asked.
"You guys, do you think he's back in Roscoe?" Robbie asked."
"I don't know, Robbie." Lily said, "Where would he go if he was back?"
And at the same time the three of them shouted, "Mickey's!"
